Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation Concludes in Tibet, China, with Calls for Green Development, Environmental Conservation in Himalayan Mountains Region and Silk Road.
The theme for Trans-Himalaya Forum 2024 was “Harmonious Coexistence of Humans and Nature” calls to expand cooperation for green tourism development, green development, balance in ecological development and environmental conservation.
The participating delegates of Trans-Himalaya Forum 2024 pledged to actively cooperate in relevant sectors among the countries of the Himalayan Mountains region and the Silk Road.

Linzhi, Tibet: The fourth China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation commenced in Linzhi in Southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region with the theme of “Harmonious Coexistence of Humans and Nature”, on Thursday.
Delegates from over twenty countries and regions, including Nepal, Myanmar, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, are attending the Trans-Himalaya Forum 2024, besides the presence of high-ranking Chinese officials and representatives from various countries and organisations.
The focus of the forum is on implementing the Nyingchi Initiative, which was launched at the forum last year. Under the initiative, China proposed to work with countries around the Himalayas to improve environmental governance, expand climate cooperation, and address ecological challenges.
In their remarks, Mr Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee and Vice-Chairperson Ms Qin Boyong said opening speeches regarding environmental protection, highland sport activities and tourism development, green development, balance in ecological development and environmental conservation.
Another aspect of the initiative was to strengthen the protection of biodiversity, natural resources, and the overall environment of the region.
The forum was inaugurated in 2018 to deepen practical cooperation among regional countries on diverse subjects, including geographical connectivity, environmental protection, ecological preservation, and enhancing cultural linkages for countries in the mountainous regions of the Himalaya.
Myanmar delegation was led by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi attended the opening ceremony of the 4th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation at Lulang International Pearl Hotel in Nyanchi,
