Pakistan, as member of SCO, holds the rotating chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG), and invitation was sent to PM Narendra Modi to attend the two-day SCO Heads of Governments Meeting.

“I can confirm that invitations have been extended to all Heads of Government of SCO member countries, including the Prime Minister of India, for the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This meeting is scheduled to take place in Islamabad. We are not in a position to share the responses at this stage. Further updates will be shared in due course”, Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, told the weekly press briefing on Thursday.

“An invitation has also been sent to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi (too)”, she added.
