Beijing: China’s marine economy, which covers industries ranging from navigation and fishery to shipbuilding, exceeded 9 trillion yuan (1.25 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2022, showcasing booming business activities under the BRI or Maritime Silk Road.

The year 2023 marked the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (MSR) launched for building an open, cooperative, mutually beneficial, and win-win international sea routes for logistic and transportation cooperation.
