- Marvels of Digital Silk Road Showcased at Digital China Summit 2024
Beijing: The 7th Digital China Summit 2024, themed “Accelerating China’s Digital Development and Promoting Chinese-style Modernization”, opened at Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center in Fuzhou City, southeast China’s Fujian Province, May 24, 2024.
The summit showcases China’s marvelous achievements in digitalization, bringing together government departments, enterprises and institutions from 28 provinces, cities and regions to participate.

The 5-day exhibition displays projects of digital infrastructure, digital economy, digital society, digital innovations, 5G technologies, blockchain and artificial intelligence.
The summit has been successfully held in Fuzhou since 2018, and has led to nearly 2,000 digital economy projects being signed and implemented, with total investment of more than 1.3 trillion yuan ($187.79 billion).
Besides showcasing the latest achievements of China in digital construction, the development of the Digital Silk Road captivates the local and global audience.
Officials sources stated the Digital China Development Report (2023) will be unveiled at the summit.
Some 50,000 attendees had registered, with more than 11,000 signed up for the various forums. The on-site experience area boasts over 350 participating units.
Guo Yefeng, a staff member of the 7th DCS told China Media Group (CMG) said that there are more immersive application scenarios this year, as people are concerned about AI-applied real scenarios to our daily life.
The summit organization committee has also set up 45 experience spots for digital application scenarios across Fuzhou. In this case, people in the city can see and feel the latest achievements of a smart city.
According to Yuan Qi, a staff member at Fuzhou’s digital experience zone, the venue allows visitors to explore a wide range of AI applications and services. “Need directions to the Digital China Summit?” Yuan explains, “Simply ask the AI assistant! It will provide you with specific bus and subway routes, and even generate the QR codes for convenient one-click access to public transportation options.”
The 2024 edition of Digital China Summit will hold about 150 forums and seminars, with more than 1,300 experts and scholars giving keynote speeches. Also, the Summit has organized nearly 100 matchmaking events, resulting in 1,976 digital economy projects being signed and landed, with a total investment of about 1.4 trillion yuan.
