- China Supports and expands Development Cooperation for Digital Transformation in Pakistan
Islamabad: Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Chairman, China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) visited the Smart Classroom at Air University Islamabad, which has been developed by Higher Education Commission (HEC) under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
He was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Jiang Zaidong. Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad along with the Vice Chancellor, Air University welcomed the delegation.
CIDCA, the Chinese Government agency, formulates strategic guidelines, plans and policies for foreign aid projects including CPEC. It also identifies major grant programmes and supervise and evaluate their implementation.
The guests witnessed the live smart classroom where far-flung sites from Turbat, Hangu, Hazara, Multan, Kandkhot, Chitral, Quetta were connected.
Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed informed the delegation that the project has been installed at 100 sites, and it stands completed. He said that this is a turning point for country’s higher education that will raise the bar for digital learning and enhance online learning generally by promoting student interaction and offering a dynamic learning environment.
Chairman CIDCA, Mr. Luo Zhaohui, showed immense pleasure on how youth has been facilitated with modern gadgets for better teaching and learning experience.
He highlighted that China and Pakistan have close and mutually beneficial relationship, and the Chinese Government will support Pakistan in developing strong higher education system.
