Chinese ambassador, Afghan Deputy Prime Minister pledge to deepen development cooperation

Kabul: Chinese ambassador, Zhao Xing, held meeting with Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Afghan Caretaker Government in capital, Kabul, to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the war-torn country of Asia.

Ambassador Zhao spoke about the current achievements of China-Afghanistan cooperation and expressed his willingness to work with Afghanistan to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the areas of security, economic, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and the continuous development of China-Afghanistan relations in the new period in other countries.

Expressing condolences over recent floods in Afghanistan, Zhao said the Chinese Red Cross will provide $100,000 emergency humanitarian cash donations to Afghanistan to help Afghanistan fight floods and provide natural disaster relief.

Mr. Hanafi said Afghanistan and China have a long history of friendship and thanked the Chinese government for its long-term selfless assistance to Afghanistan in various fields. Afghanistan firmly adheres to the unified policy of China and is willing to deepen further exchanges and cooperation with China in various areas, including joint fight against terrorism and promotion of economic development and long-term stability of the two countries and region.
