Beijing: China-Laos Railway has handled over 34 million passenger trips via 50,187 trains as of Tuesday since the railway began operation in December 2021, the latest data showed Wednesday.
By April 2024, the China-Laos Railway had handled over 8 million tonnes of import and export goods as of Sunday, according to Kunming Customs.
China imports durian fruit from Thailand via the Lancang-Mekong Express service of the China-Laos Railway.
Since 2021, China-Laos Railway has boosted the import and export of goods such fruits, grains, frozen seafood, electronic and mechanical products, mineral products and new energy vehicles.
Besides good, the railway connectivity between Laos and China also carries out more exchanges and cooperation for cultural heritage, and mutual learning,
Also, China-Laos Railway is a landmark project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, 1,035-km Railway Line connects Kunming city, capital of Yunnan Province, with the Laotian capital Vientiane. It began operations in December 2021.
