Beijing, May 27: The leaders from the Arab world will attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, being held in Beijing, capital of China, on May 30, 2024, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Monday.
Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, along with with Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, Mauritania’s minister of foreign affairs, cooperation and Mauritanians abroad will chair this diplomacy meeting.
Foreign ministers or representatives of the Arab states and the secretary general of the Arab League will represent their countries at the meeting.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and deliver a keynote speech, according official sources of China.
From the Arab world, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Tunisia’s President Kais Saied, and the United Arab Emirates’ President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay state visits to China, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, from May 28 to June 1,2024.
The attendance of four heads of state of Arab countries to the opening ceremony of the forum fully reflects the multifaceted cooperation between China and Arab countries.
The focus of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum will be on implementing the consensus of the leaders, expanding cooperation between China and Arab countries in various fields, while accelerating the construction of a China-Arab community with a shared future under BRI, BRICSPlus and Vision 2023.
Founded in 2004, China-Arab States Cooperation Forum serves as a formal dialogue initiative between China and the Arab League to discuss primary multilateral coordination mechanism between the world’s second largest economy and the Arab states.
