Cairo: The Egyptian-European Investment Conference, a business summit catering to European leaders and investors will commence on Saturday, June 29, at Al Manara International Conference Centre.
The Egyptian President, cabinet members and Cairo business leaders, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, along with government officials and investors , delegates from global institutions and multilateral partners will be attending the two-day business event.
According to official sources, some 632 registrations from European individuals and companies and international institutions, and 647 registrations from Egyptian individuals and companies, excluding government officials and agencies have been received by the organizers.
The conference will be the featuring of the discussion sessions with focus on industry, energy, the automotive industry, information and communication technology, financial investment, and other sectors.
During the event, bilateral meetings between private sector companies from Egypt and Europe and between the private sector and relevant ministers will be held, too.
Officials will review and discuss the status of various project deals, contracts, and joint memorandums of understanding expected to be signed during the conference.
Also, the conference, taking place on 29-30 June, will be the first major step in implementing the Egypt-EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership agreed upon by both sides on March 2024 during the Egypt-European Summit in Cairo.
According to the strategic and comprehensive agreement, Egypt would receive 7.4 billion euros in EU funding until 2027.
Organizers stated the two-day event aims to explore investments between Egypt and the EU in vital fields towards the development and sustainability of the Egyptian economy.
